                                               National Holidays of U.S.A
     


    Every nation and every country has its own customs and traditions.
I will speak about holidays in the usa.


                                                         New Year’s day
   New Year’s day is celebrated on December 31,it is a major social holiday for many people in the USA. Many people hold parties at home or attend special celebrations to celebrate the upcoming New Year. In many cities, large scale public events are hold. These often attract thousands of people.

                                                     Saint Valentine’s day
 This holiday is celebrated on February 14. On this day people have the opportunity to express love for their sweethearts.

                                                             Earth day
It is celebrated on April 22. Earth day network was found on the premise that all people, regardless of race, gender, income, or geography have a moral right to a healthy, sustainable environment



                                                        Easter day
Easter is a religious holiday that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. For Christians, Easter is a day of religious services and the gathering of family. The egg is popular symbol of Easter. Many Americans follow old traditions of coloring hard-boiled eggs and giving children baskets of candy. On the next day, Easter Monday, the president of the United States holds an annual Easter egg hunt on the White House lawn for young children.


                                                  Mother’s day                                                                                Mother's Day in the United States is an annual holiday celebrated on the second Sunday in May. Traditions on this day include churchgoing, the distribution of carnations, and family dinners..


                                                    Memorial day

 Memorial day is a US federal holiday which is celebrated every year on the final Monday of May.Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.  It typically marks the start of the summer vacation season, while Labor Day marks its end.
Many people visit cemeteries and memorials, particularly to honor those who have died in military service. Many volunteers place an American flag on each grave in national cemeteries.


Independence day
Independence Day is annually celebrated on July 4 and is often known as "the Fourth of July". It is the anniversary of the publication of the declaration of Independence from Great Britain in 1776. Patriotic displays and family events are organized throughout the United States.



                                                              Labor day
Labor Day in the United States is a holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September. It is a celebration of the American labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country.


Halloween
Every October 31, both children and adults slip into the night as ghousts and goblins, princesses and pirates. Many Americans celebrate the traditions of Halloween by dressing up in costumes and telling tales of witches and ghosts. Pumpkins are carved into glowering jack-o'-lanterns. Children parade from house to house, knocking on doors and calling out "Trick or treat!" hoping to have their bags filled with candy. 


                                                   Thanksgiving day
Thanksgiving Day is celebrated with lot of fervor and merry-making in America. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November every year, it is a time for communal thanksgiving, feeling gratitude, lavish feasts. It is a time to remember the pilgrims.


                                                            Veterans day
It is an official United States holiday that honours people who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, also known as veterans. It is a federal holiday that is observed on November 11. It coincides with other holidays such as Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world and also mark the anniversary of the end of World War I.

                                                   Christmas day
Many people in the United States celebrate Christmas Day on December 25. The day celebrates Jesus Christ's birth. It is often combined with customs from pre-Christian winter celebrations. Many people erect Christmas trees, decorate their homes, visit family or friends and exchange gifts.
A wide range of people and objects represent Christmas. These include baby Jesus, the Nativity and the Three Kings, but also Santa Claus, reindeer and elves. Common objects at this time of year are pine trees, holly, decorations, fairy lights, candles and presents. Christmas Day is now truly a mix of religious celebration and commercial interests.
